The primary blood problem associated with parasitic infection is anemia. This is true whether the parasite is "intestinal" or one of the microscopic blood parasites. Both tend to eat red blood cells, sometimes with discernment and sometimes they practically suck up blood like a vacuum cleaner. One of the consequences of this is lack of ability to transport oxygen throughout the body. Symptoms might include coldness, especially in the extremities like hands and feet, but some people could be quite weak and tired, often exhibiting despondency. A few could hemorrhage.

Yellow Dock Elixir, 4 oz.

Sacred Medicine Sanctuary produces a yellow dock elixir based on the work of Dr. John Christopher who used a similar formula to rebuild red blood cells.

Contents: Rumex crispus is combined with Celastrus scandens and Scrophularia nodosa, two of the main ingredients in the Seneca Elixir. It is extracted in organic grain alcohol, vegetable glycerine, and distilled water and then blended with pure blackstrap molasses because of the minerals in molasses.

There is a hypothetical possibility that a patient with a parasitic infection could hemorrhage internally. If you have seen a dog's heart in a jar of formaldehyde in a veterinarian's office, you understand the logic. In fact, internal bleeding due to perforation by parasites must be an exceptionally rare occurrence but nevertheless serious enough to warrant adding Sangre de Grado to the Dragon Dreams formula which, of course, gets its name partly from the use of this South American resin from a tree and partly from the bizarre dreams that some people have while undergoing a parasite cleanse.

Dragon's Blood is made from the fresh resin of the South American Croton lechleri tree. In the bottle, the resin is a very dark and quite thick reddish brown color, but when put on the skin, it becomes transparent and makes a natural sterile bandage. It belongs in absolutely every medicine cabinet and backpack. When I was in Europe, we used this in the operating room to reduce (well almost totally eliminate) bleeding. I moved my hand behind the surgeon's and dripped the resin into the areas where he was cutting. This made for much easier wound management, little or no blood loss, much less pain from cuts and injuries, and very quick healing. I absolutely love this resin and never cease to be fascinated by the gifts of Nature nor the traditions of ethnobotany.

Besides wound healing, studies suggest that dragon's blood is useful for gastric ulcers. Among other things, it seems to result in the thickening of the mucous membrane of the stomach. It has also proved helpful for diarrhea, especially that suffered by persons with AIDS, and in vitro studies suggest that the latex has apoptotic effects on certain types of cancer cells. It appears to be antimutagenic also.
